On one side of the Zigzag Bridge are winter jasmines and willows, while on the other side lies Tongli Lake. When walking on the bridge, listening to the gentle lapping of the lake waves against the bridge pillars and occasionally seeing fish swimming near the surface, one can't help but slow down and cherish the moment of comfort. At night, the entire bridge is illuminated, looking like a jade belt spanning across the lake surface. With the twinkling stars in the sky, creating an undeniable romance.
The zigzag bridge is of great use in creating waterside scenery. Besides being a part of the landscape itself, it allows visitors to get closer to the water. As one walks on it, the view changes with each turn. This bridge features the commonly seen stone railings and flat bridge deck of a zigzag bridge, winding and circuitous. It doesn't actually have exactly nine bends. Since "9" is the largest odd number among digits, it generally refers to a large number and symbolizes auspiciousness and nobility in Chinese culture. The pavement at the western entrance is in the pattern of the Eight Immortals' magic tools (the magic instruments used by the Eight Immortals).
