This two-story octagonal pavilion is named after a historic landmark in Wujiang. Every spring around March- April, the rapeseed fields to the north burst into bloom, spreading a sea of golden yellow, dotted with small bridges and flowing streams. Climbing the pavilion to gaze at this scenery offers boundless beauty. The center of the octagonal pavilion is the best spot for energy flow, making it ideal for morning tai chi and breathing exercises, absorbing the essence of the sun and moon to nourish both body and mind.
The historic Chuihong Bridge of Wujiang, built during the Song Dynasty, was arched like a crescent moon and stretched like a rainbow, earning its reputation as one of the "Three Wu's Supreme Scenic Wonders." Over a hundred famous figures throughout history composed poems and painted scenes of it. The most widely celebrated is the poem by Song Dynasty poet Mi Fu: "A lone sail like a broken cloud on Dongting Lake, jade-like perch and golden tangerines. Write new poems to send to the mulberry fields, as the autumn colors of Chuihong fill the southeast." The bridge once featured the Chuihong Pavilion, from which one could enjoy a panoramic view of countless sights. Sadly, it no longer exists, leaving only a reconstructed memorial park.
